However, the launch, as we learn now, might be delayed till March .That’s definitely bad news for Sony Ericsson which, for some reasons, wasn’t able to launch its Windows Mobile Xperia smartphones in a timely manner first and now Sony Ericsson’s first Android Xperia smartphone seems to face the same destiny.sony-ericsson-xperia-x10

However the delay since caused due to software update reasons ,woudnt annoy the users who are eagerly waiting for it.

The phone is expected to run Android clair 2.0 OR Android 1.6 Donut. As you might already be aware, the Xperia X10 features a

  • 4.0 TFT 480 854 pixels 262
  • 144 colour touchscreen, Wi-Fi
  • micro USB connector and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
  • It also boasts of a Snapdragon processor, an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus

With specifications straight out of Star Trek, this just might be the device to propel the Google Android operating system ahead of iPhone 3G S.Out of the box, the device is pure eye candy, with a black or silver metal-and-plastic body, crisp 3-inch touch screen and slightly curved QWERTY keyboard that slides out smoothly with a satisfying click.

There are still some drawbacks, including that the XPERIA X10 will have Donut when it launches in Q1, meaning Android 2.0.1. will not appear on the phone until they decide to update (which could be months).
